Originally from Asheville, NC, Lainey Everly is a western OR based artist who works in a variety of mediums including sculpture, metals, fibers, painting, photography, and drawing. As a passionate environmentalist, Everly has been working with recycled products such as plastics and metal to create works that emphasize conscious material-use in art. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Sustainable Development and a Bachelor’s of Fine and Applied Arts in Studio Art. Her work is influenced by a combination of nature and nature-based mythology and narrative, with the intention to create a sense of the magical while simultaneously fostering an appreciation for the natural environment. She has exhibited works in Boone, Blowing Rock, and Fayetteville, NC, and has participated in shows in North Carolina, Oregon, Kentucky, Colorado, Maryland, and Florida.
